THE COUTURE – MILWAUKEE

Representing the most dramatic change in Milwaukee’s skyline in decades, the iconic, $191 million Couture Milwaukee, at 44 stories, is now the tallest residential building in Wisconsin. Overlooking Lake Michigan, The Couture offers 322 high-end apartments, extensive parking, and 42,600 sqf of restaurant and retail space. Amenities include an onsite private park, a resort-style pool area, and its own intermodal transit hub connecting residents to the heart of a vibrant downtown. This beautiful structure, and its substantial economic impact on Milwaukee have been made possible by the expert labor provided by IW Local 8.

Overall the site was tight, and offered very little laydown/staging areas to work with. This required our team to strictly manage deliveries and execute daily installation goals to ensure the flow of materials kept up with schedules and that materials did not hinder the progress other trades.

With13 openings, the core of The Couture was very complex. Intrusive over-head supports added difficulties. This was over-come at the craftsman level applying countless on-the-spot adjustments and fixes, and by selectively pre-tying to make installation go more smoothly.
